Our Ministry
From Gospel times to the present, care of the sick has been seen as a special calling and privilege. Avera's sponsors, the Benedictine Sisters of Yankton and the Presentation Sisters of Aberdeen, encourage all Avera caregivers to understand their work as a healing ministry and to demonstrate, by their words and actions, God's love for all people.
Avera fosters attention to spirituality in its employees through mission leadership, development programs, discussions of ethical issues, an employee newsletter and opportunities for private and group prayer.
